Smoothed Polycount: 812,277 faces (1,622,922 tris) Unsmoothed Polycount: 57,903 faces (113,040 tris). I completed the modeling, texturing, and rendering. Rendered in IRay and Arnold. Base model was made with Maya, details were sculpted in Zbrush, textures were made in Substance Painter.
This model is of the Star Wars Legends Chiss Clawcraft which was mentioned and involved with the Extended Universe books in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I used reference images and designs of the Chiss Clawcraft from Star Wars The New Essential Guide To Vehicles & Vessels by Haden Blackman and Ian Fullwood, Jeff Carlisle's work on Star Wars Gamer Magazine Issue 5, Jason Daily's physical model which was posted on FineScale Modeler Magazine's Website, and images from the Star Wars Trading Card Game by Wizards of the Coast. The cockpit was based off of Tie Fighter images from Star Wars IV: A New Hope, Paul Johnson's Animated Tie Fighter short, and the Rebels Tie Cockpit Dimensions image on Rebel Scale.
I really enjoyed working on this model and had fun implementing techniques I learned during The Rookies Kombi Challenge.
